Rattlers advance to volleyball provincial semifinals

RED DEER, AB — The Medicine Hat College Rattlers men’s volleyball team earned their first victory at the ACAC Men’s Volleyball Provincial Championship Thursday afternoon.

The Rattlers topped the Grande Prairie Regional College Wolves in three sets (25-23, 25-19, 25-18) during a hard-fought game at Red Deer College.

Joel Kotyk led the Rattlers with nine kills through the game, followed by Alfred Dalevik with six kills and Isak Helland-Hansen with five. Cole Sanderson had 25 assists for the Rattlers through the game.

Tristan Simmonds led the Wolves with 16 kills.

The Rattlers are scheduled to face the SAIT Trojans on Friday at 5 p.m. in the semifinal game.
