Taber police investigating alleged assault; Saskatchewan man in hospital with serious injuries

TABER – A Saskatchewan man remains in hospital with serious head injuries after a suspected assault in Taber Wednesday night.
 
The Taber Police Service responded to an alleged serious assault in the backyard of a home along the 5000 block of 53 Street. There they found the 25-year old victim.
 
The man was transported to the Taber Hospital, and later airlifted by STARS to Calgary’s Foothills Hospital.
 
Police say a 39-year old Saskatchewan man in now in custody, and believe the suspect and victim know each other. The attack was not random.
 
An investigation is ongoing and no charges have been laid at this time, but are pending.
 
Police are still awaiting an update on the condition of the victim. The accused and victim’s identities will not be released at this time.
