Alberta Party names candidate for Cypress-Medicine Hat

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The Alberta Party has named its candidate for Cypress-Medicine Hat for the 2019 election.

According to the political party’s official Twitter account announced Colette Smithers will be the party’s nominee during the election this spring.

 

CHAT News has reached out to Smithers for an interview about her candidacy, and will add her comments in once we receive an interview.

Smithers, an entrepreneur, community advocate and public speaker, ran for Medicine Hat city council during the 2017 election.

Cypress-Medicine Hat has three candidates declared for the 2019 election. Incumbent MLA Drew Barnes (United Conservative Party) is seeking his third term in the legislature. Peter Mueller was recently declared

In the riding, Drew Barnes is seeking a third term as MLA, running under the United Conservative Party banner. Peter Mueller was recently named the NDP candidate for the riding.

The Alberta Party previously announced Jim Black will be their candidate in the Brooks-Medicine Hat riding.
