Trial date set for man charged in New Year’s Eve 2016 homicide
MEDICINE HAT, AB — A man charged with second degree murder in connection with a homicide on New Year’s Eve 2016 will go to trial this spring.
Leonard Beaulieu’s trial is scheduled to begin in the Medicine Hat Court of Queen’s Bench on May 6. According to the court, Beaulieu will be tried by judge and jury, and the trial is scheduled to last 12 days.
He was originally scheduled to be tried earlier this month.
Beaulieu was charged in February 2017 following the death of Jordan Pede of Medicine Hat.
