OTTAWA— Postal workers could be walking off the job as early as Monday.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers, which represents 50 thousand Canada Post employees, announced late Tuesday afternoon they had served strike notice.

Rotating strikes will begin on Monday at 12:01 a.m. if agreements aren’t reached. The locations that will be impacted first are not immediately known.

The CUPW is pushing for improved job security, an end to forced overtime and better health and safety measures.
