City launches public engagement survey

MEDICINE HAT, AB — The city is looking for feedback on public engagement in a new survey.

The survey, launched on Friday, sees officials looking for information to develop a public participation policy for the city when it seeks participation or engagement from the community in local governance and operational matters.

The results will give the city an idea about how the community values public engagement. Those responding to the survey are asked to describe what city engagement activities should look like, how they want to provide input and feedback and on what topics.

Residents have recently given city feedback on issues such as cannabis policy, speed zones, the city budget and other topics.

The policy is a requirement under the Municipal Government Act.

The survey can be found online here. Paper versions are also available by calling 403-502-8719. The deadline to respond is April 11.
