Wilbert Daniel Bohnet passed away at St. Joseph’s Home - Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday, February 24, 2025, at the age of 87 years. He leaves to cherish his memory three children, Karen (Les) Darr, Kelly (Cindy) Bohnet and Kelvin (Brenda) Bohnet; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Hazel, Florance and Francis as well as his brother, Fred. He was predeceased by his wife, Betty; grandson, Daniel; granddaughter, Pamela and by his sister, Viola.
Wilbert was born on April 3, 1937, to Daniel and Mary Bohnet and was raised north of Orion. In 1962, Wilbert married Betty Nittle and they lived west of his parents home where they raised their three children. In 1982, they purchased 80 acres of irrigation just outside of Medicine Hat. Wilbert lived the farming/ranching life with many hunting trips and going to catch a fish or two.
A Celebration of Wilbert’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Private interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery.
