Later, in 1978 as the family moved to Ukraine, he worked as an engineer providing for his family and built a house for the family. He also served (volunteered) as a pastor of a Baptist Church in the city of Izmail, Odessa region. Preaching the gospel and leading the church brought him great joy. He often reflected on those years as the best time of his life. In 1990, when the family immigrated to Canada, Vladimir worked as a personal care aid at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital until he retired. He enjoyed building houses and playing chess as a hobby.
Our dear Papa Vladimir, we, your children thank you for everything you taught and gave us. Thank you for the joy and humor you brought us. You are a great Gift God blessed us with here on earth. You are forever in our hearts. We miss you, but we trust that we will see you again at the feet of Jesus.
