Velva Joan “Vel” Moser of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully with family at her side at St. Joseph’s Home on Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Vel leaves to cherish her memory her children, Faye (Don) Steinbach, Glen (Rita) Aman and Gail (Dave) Bradford; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and her sister, Joyce McQueen. Vel was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Moser; and her sister and brother-in-law, Chrissie and Stanley Rose and their two children; and her brother-in-law, Gordon McQueen. Vel was born in Medicine Hat, AB, on November 8th, 1933 and lived in Medicine Hat and Redcliff most of her entire life. She belonged to the Church of St. Ambrose Vestry in Redcliff and also served as the Church’s secretary for a period of time. For many years, she sewed for her family and enjoyed many activities like curling, bowling and shuffleboard. Vel’s family would like to extend their appreciation to all of the staff at St. Joseph’s Home for their excellent care and a special thank you to Nel Mulder and her late husband, Trinnus “Slim” for their friendship and ongoing support through the years. Vel will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday, March 28th, 2019 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at ST. AMBROSE ANGLICAN CHURCH, 505 – 5th Street SE, Redcliff, on Friday, March 29th, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial gifts in Vel’s memory may be made to St. Joseph’s Home Comfort Closet, 156 – 3rd Street NE, Medicine Hat, AB, T1A 5M1 or to St. Ambrose Anglican Church, 505 – 5th Street SE, Redcliff, Alberta, T0J 2P0.
