March 5, 1964 ~ September 11, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Troy Darren Koenig, announce his sudden passing in Medicine Hat on Sunday, September 11, 2022, at the age of 58 years. Troy will be deeply missed by his parents, Vern and Evelyn Koenig; brothers, Rick of Cochrane and Trent of Medicine Hat; his two loving children, Aaron of Brandon, MB. and Ashley of Edmonton; niece, Kelsey and her son, Jayden as well as one nephew, Laine along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Nathalia ‘Dolly’ Koenig and Michael and Pauline Rath. Troy was born and raised in Medicine Hat. In his early years, he enjoyed family trips to Yellowstone and Jasper as well as numerous trips to Vancouver Island and Disneyland. Troy also enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and playing pool with friends and family. He had a sense of humour, loved to joke and was known in town as a reputable painter “The Best Painter Around’ (Those are his own words). “May your pain finally be gone; we will miss you. Rest in peace!” A private family service will be held at a later date.
