Tom Rooke is a long-time resident of Medicine Hat and former trustee for Medicine Hat School District #76.

He previously served on the finance committee, the Education Foundation, and was chair of the negotiating committee.

Rooke says the current curriculum draft needs to be thoroughly examined before implementation.

He says he brings a common-sense and positive approach to the table and is a strong supporter of public education.

As a taxpayer, he wants to ensure tax dollars are spent wisely for education.

He is a believer in boards that have good balance, ideas from all sides, saying parents, educators, empty nesters, and businesspeople all contribute to a balanced board.
