Shirley Rose Albrecht passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at the age of 83 years, beloved wife of Ernest Albrecht of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Kim (Dale) Mendryk of James River Bridge, Alberta; two grandchildren, Courtney Mendryk (Cam Fox) and Shae-Lynn Mendryk (Carter Patey); her great grandchild, Holden; Lola’s children, Tom (Linda) Coffey, Janice (Danny) Holmedal and Russ (Kelly) Coffey; brother-in-law, Marvin (Alvena) Albrecht; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Albrecht and Eleanor Albrecht as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Ruby Hulme; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Christina Albrecht; her sister, Lola (Frank) Coffey and their son, Chuck; her sister-in-law, Esther (Richard) Eisenbarth; three brothers-in-law, Carl Albrecht, Edwin (Violet) Albrecht and Clarence Albrecht. Shirley was a vibrant and loved member of countless communities; Saint Barnabas Anglican Church where she served on the altar guild, was the secretary for years, and volunteered at teas and services, her line-dancing gals, her summer golf girls, Medalta Pottery advocates, and many more. Shirley was well known for the hours she spent in her garden, her beautifully painted rocks, and her contagious smile she shared with all her neighbors, family and friends. She will forever be celebrated and remembered for these same special memories. Shirley’s grandchildren, Courtney and Shae, and her first great grandson Holden, have always and will continue to hold a special place in her heart. The family would like to sincerely thank the first responders, friends and neighbors that went above and beyond, provided a sympathetic ear or shoulder to cry on, and supported us in our time of need. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Friday, May 29, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID-19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health, a private funeral service for invited family will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Dr. Oz Lorentzen officiating. Family and friends are invited to remotely attend the funeral service through live streaming on our Facebook page – Pattison Funeral Home and Crematorium. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Shirley with a donation may do so to the organization of your choice.
