Shirley Margaret Foster, beloved wife of 52 years to Blake Foster of Cypress County, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 30th, 2019 at the age of 71 years. Shirley also leaves to cherish her memory her children, Deborah Foster of St. Albert, Evert Foster, Calvin (Betty) Foster, both of Medicine Hat and Derek (Tammy) Foster of Oyen; her mother, Elizabeth Massini; nine grandchildren, Denise, Cameron, Jessica, Elissa, Charley, Alaiya, Blair, Brooklyn and Carter; and one sister, Velva (Peter) Buzzeo of Edmonton. Shirley was predeceased by her father, Joseph Massini; and one son, Blair Foster. Shirley was born on August 26th, 1948 in Medicine Hat. She enjoyed travelling, taking cruises, trips to Mexico, knitting, being pampered by getting her nails and hair done and wearing her jewelry. She spent countless hours volunteering for different organizations. Above all else, Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and will be missed greatly by them. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Shirley’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 220, 6223 – 2nd Street SE, Calgary, AB T2H 1J5.
