Shirley Anne Wolfe (nee Keyes), beloved wife of the late, John Eugene Wolfe, peacefully passed away with her family by her side at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at the age of 86 years. Shirley was born and raised in Bow Island where she attended Senator Gershaw School. She worked as a banker at various banks throughout her career. Shirley and John were married in Niagara Falls and his military career allowed their family to live in various locations including France and Germany where she adventured around Europe enjoying historical places. Shirley liked to socialize and enjoyed a good laugh. Her hobbies included gardening, baking, cooking, traveling, reading and playing baseball and curling. She was also a Legion member for many years. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of St Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice for their compassionate care; to her roommate, Sandy as well as the nursing staff at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory her dear children: Lori Drader (Jack), Leslie Drader (Murray) and Donovan Wolfe; grandchildren, Jessica Drader (Scott), Callum Drader (Cara), Emylee Wolfe, Terry Drader, Tyrrell Drader (Jen), Devvon Drader (Karla); ten great-grandchildren; siblings, Judith Osborne (nee Keyes), Alfred (Lynn) Keyes and Gerry (Dianne) Keyes and sister-in-law, Bev Keyes. Shirley was predeceased by her husband, John Wolfe; parents, Donovan and Della Keyes (nee Flug); sister, Florence Thorson and her brother, Norman Keyes. Shirley’s life and legacy will be honoured with a private family celebration at a later date.
