Sheila Marie Hubl-Leggo, beloved wife of John Leggo of Medicine Hat, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the age of 73 years. Besides her loving husband, Sheila is survived by her children, Sylvia Leggo, and stepdaughters, Lorraine (Darwin) Nickel and Dianne Leggo; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Kiarra Leggo and Nathaniel Greggains (their children Ember and David Leggo) and Joshua Greggains; Brittany Leggo and Dan Guzmanuk (her children Myla and Evan Fong); Taylor Buffalo (his children Audrey and Syrus Buffalo); Tamia Nickel and Michael Thomas; and Joshua Nickel; three brothers, Allan (Denise) Hubl, Stanley (Brenda) Hubl all of Eckville, Alberta, and Marvin (Linda) Hubl of Alhambra, Alberta; honorary daughter Khloe Pugh of Medicine Hat, brothers-in-law Bob Leggo of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland and Gerald (Teresa) Leggo of Medicine Hat, sister-in-law Dianne (Terry) Wells of Cornerbrook, Newfoundland, as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, and cousins and their families. She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Hubl, mother and father-in-law Chesley and Bertha Leggo, sisters-in-law, Mildred Lundrigan and Shirley Leggo, brothers-in-laws, Raymond Leggo and Kevin Leggo and stepson David Leggo. Sheila was born on May 23, 1950 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital to parents Robert and Eleanor Hubl. She attended elementary school at the Gaetz School in Clearwater County, Alberta, David Thompson High School in Leslieville, Alberta. Her post secondary education was received at Red Deer College where she obtained her Legal Secretary Diploma. She was employed as a legal secretary to the Crown Prosecutors for almost 40 years. Sheila loved horseback riding in her early years, camping, golfing, and scrap booking. She coached ten pin bowling for youth and the special olympics, taking numerous trips for provincial, national, and international coaching competitions. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating.
