Sandra “Sandy” Robinson
April 1st, 1949 – February 23rd, 2025
Sandra Leslie Robinson (Labrum) passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2025, at the age of 75 years. Her friends and family all called her Sandy. She was a shining light wherever she went.
She was born in 1949 in Calgary, AB, to parents, Vera (Noble) Labrum and Harold Labrum. She attended Eric Hamber High School in Vancouver, BC. She attended nursing school at Vancouver General Hospital. She was an RN for 15 years before her health forced her to retire. When she was able, my mom spent her time cruising. She loved spending time on the ocean and making new friends. Her other passion was singing and taking part in musical endeavors. In the 80s and 90s, she participated in musical theater. Her biggest role was in the Theater Under the Stars production of “Oliver Twist.”
When she moved into a senior living facility in Medicine Hat, AB, in 2022, she started her own singing group with other musically inclined residents. They practiced together every week and even performed for everyone in their care home. She was also an inspiring writer and documentarian. She tried her hand at producing a documentary with her son and her friends, Tim and Jen Marlow, whom she considered family.
Sandy is predeceased by her husband of 20 years, Glenn William Robinson.
Sandy is survived by her two children, Nathaniel Robinson and Rebecca Maxwell (Robinson); 4 grandchildren, Quinton Sloan, Ashlee-Shawn Maxwell, Keira-Lynn Maxwell, and Isabella Robinson; brother, Howat Labrum (Ampron) and their children, Alan and Pamela Labrum.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and information will be posted once available. Condolences may be made at www.gracememorial.com.
