Rose Marie Gertner of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at the age of 97 years, beloved wife of the late Paul Gertner. She leaves to cherish her memory four children; Ron (Erica) Gertner and Ed (Linda) Gertner all of Medicine Hat, Larry (Evelyn) Gertner of Saskatoon and Sharon (Ron) Deptuch of Martensville, Saskatchewan; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one sister Florence Baran, two sisters-in-law Ida Hoffner and Theresa Gertner and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents Elizabeth and Frank Geiger; her husband Paul Gertner on March 16, 1997, eleven brothers and sisters and four brothers and sisters-in-law. Rose loved company and having people around her. Her greatest joy was visiting with her family. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 1:55 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Fr. Albert Sayson celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Southern Alberta 340 A Maple Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 7L5 or to the charity of one’s choice.
