Robert Risling has been publicly serving the local Catholic community for more than 25 years.

He says that for Medicine Hat Catholic students to be most successful, the board of trustees must be faithful to the mandate given us by the church and her faithful, by providing a Catholic education which is Cristocentric.

He says he was instrumental in 2015 in getting the local division to adopt the five marks of Catholic Education promulgated by his Excellency Archbishop Michael Miller. He says if that if the division continues to meet these marks, students will be guaranteed success.

Risling says that his eight years of experience on the board has given him both knowledge and experience in the functioning of a school division, and how to effectively direct, and develop good policy and provide good governance.

Risling has been married to Helena for 31 years and they have four children and three grandchildren.
