It is with deep sadness that the family of Richard George Martin announce his peaceful passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at the age of 75 years. Rick was born in Regina, Sk. to Côme and Kathleen Martin. He spent his early childhood in Sedley, Sk. Then in 1953, his dad was transferred to Lajord, Sk. Rick loved sports including baseball, hockey and curling. He was an avid animal lover and was always rescuing stray animals, bringing them home. He finished high school in Regina and shortly after moved to Red Deer, Ab. where he became a finishing carpenter… a trade he was very talented at. Rick loved to travel with his first adventure going to Mexico where he lived for sometime. Later in life, he toured all around Australia and New Zealand for four months. Rick was a very friendly and fun loving guy. He is survived by his brother, Bob (Angie); sister, Rita (Brian); sister-in-law, Cheryl; niece, Shannon Hein; nephews, Dean (Jacqui) Hodge, Colin (Tammy), Kyle Hodge, Shawn (Brittany) Martin, Chris (Candy) Martin as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. Awaiting Rick in the heavens are his dad, Côme; mother, Kathleen; and brother, Ron and his grandparents. Rick will be silently remembered by family and friends.
