It is with breaking hearts that the family of Richard Gregory Weinberger announce his passing on January 19, 2019 at the age of 71 years. After a long road of struggles with his health he passed away where he wanted to be, at home with his wife. Beloved husband of Dianne (Stein) Weinberger for 49 years; loving father of their oldest daughter Pamela (Terry) Whitfield and their children Danielle (Josh), Drake and Drue; their son Derek Weinberger and their youngest daughter April (Scott) Duchscherer and their children Ethan and Abbie. He is also survived by his brother Harvey Weinberger, sisters, Ann (John) Lacher, Tilley (Ed) Heino, Barbara Weinberger, Marie (Tim) Koch, Tina (Tony) Koch, Lucille (Martin) Bischoff, Lillian Weinberger, Emma (Murray) Haubrich and Geraldine (Warren) Haubrich; his brother-in-law Paul Tuchscherer, mother-in-law Clara Stein, brother-in-law Rod (Janice) Stein, sisters-in-law, Marie Stein, Sandy (Dean) Lerner, and Donna Stein as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Gregory and Melonia Weinberger; sister Frances Bachmeier, brother-in-law Henry Bachmeier, sister Rose Tuchscherer, sister-in-law Pat Weinberger, Goddaughter Rochelle Koch and father-in-law Alphonse Stein. In Richard’s younger years he loved spending time with his friends, farming, curling and most of all his family. He loved his cows, vehicles, motorcycles and worked very hard providing for his family in Fox Valley. After settling in Medicine Hat, he worked for South Rock until 2000 when his health began to fail him. He retired and spent his days listening to old time rock and roll music with a deep love for Elvis tunes. He lived for his wife and their children, and against all odds his will to live gave us extra time to love him. He has left an unbearable hole in our hearts. Those who who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr.
