Richard Julius Frankson passed away suddenly with his wife, Genevieve, by his side on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at his home in Maple Creek. Along with Genevieve, left to cherish Richard’s memory are their three sons, Shane, Rob and Rick; two brothers, Leonard and Fred; three sisters, Connie, Louella and Cindy as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Reino and Ruby Frankson and sisters, Leora and Rose. Richard was born in Camrose, Alberta on August 26, 1944. Welder by trade, he loved his work right up until his final days and was a jack of all trades who could fix and build anything. When Richard wasn’t working, he could be found puttering around the yard or watching his favourite hockey team, the Edmonton Oilers. Richard was a very hard working man who was also kind, gentle, loving and had a loving soul. He loved his family and would do anything for them. “We loved him more than words could possibly say and he will live on in our hearts forever more”. A Celebration of Richard’s life will be held in the spring of 2023, with details being announce closer to the date.
