Raymond Zuback
March 21, 1936 ~ November 1, 2022
On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, our Lord called Raymond Wayne Zuback home to join him. In his 87th year, Dad is finally at rest following many health struggles he fought endlessly to overcome. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Zuback; sister Geraldine (Cal) Post; brother, John (Verona) Zuback and his brother, Reverend Father Richard Zuback. Ray is survived by his children and their extended families, Cathy Zuback, Cheryl Zuback (Leo Lalonde), Cammy Zuback (Darcy Smetaniuk); their mother, Betty Zuback and his granddaughter, Karley Lalonde. “RW, Uncle Zub, Uncle Wayne” is also survived by many nieces and nephews who always enjoyed his company whenever they were together. Ray ‘Razor’ (as he was known) will be greatly missed by his wonderful friends, Bobby and Rosanne Leger and family, Todd Stadnyk, Charlotte Hazel; all of whom provided him with unselfish care, love and companionship. We are so grateful for all they’ve done and to have had them in his life. He loved you all. Ray was born in Lethbridge, AB., and joined the military, retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces where he served in many countries as an Air Weapons Controller. Following his retirement with over 30 years of service, Ray worked for Balistech Industries and was affiliated with the Medicine Hat Blue Jays and the Connaught Golf Club. Ray had many interests and was quite an avid sportsman. Whether it was golf, fishing, hunting, hockey or baseball, he excelled at most and won numerous awards in recognition of his talent. Ray loved a good party and was always ready for a good time especially when he could host gatherings in his beautiful back yard. He will remain in our hearts and we are comforted knowing that Dad is now at peace. Thank you to Dr. Classen for his support, compassion and care he provided to Dad during the past several months along with those in the healthcare field that bonded with him over this time. Special thank you to Bobby, Lana Kostello who along with Cathy and the compassionate care team, comforted Dad during his journey to meet our Lord. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Raymond’s Life will take place at a later date in 2023. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Adopt a Tree program with the City of Medicine Hat at the following link; https://www.medicinehat.ca/en/parks-recreation-and- culture/adopt-a-tree-program.aspx.
