Ralph Mike Dietz

Ralph Mike Dietz passed away Friday, March 17, 2017, surrounded by the love of his family. He went to heaven to dance with Rose on her birthday. Ralph was born on August 24, 1931, in Prelate, Saskatchewan. He was the 4th child of Jack and Rosie (Bitz) Dietz. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Lemsford, Saskatchewan. Ralph married Rose Eresman on October 18, 1955, and they moved onto their own farm where they raised their family. He was a proud farmer and continued to take a great interest in the farm even after retiring. Along with his brother Art, he had a grain hauling business in the 1960’s. Ralph was a hard worker but a gentle soul. He leaves to cherish his memory, two children Ken (Sheril) Dietz of Sceptre, Saskatchewan, Brenda Goldade (Brian Loran) of Medicine Hat, four grandchildren Sandy Goldade, Nathan Goldade, Meaghan (Chris) Jenny, Lesley Dietz (Steven Friedrick) and one great grandchild Camille Jenny. He also leaves to mourn his passing his special friend Irene Tuchscherer and her family and a wonderful niece Darlene Payne who was very close to him as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Jack and Rosie Dietz and in-laws Joseph and Elizabeth Eresman, his wife Rose on July 23, 2012, and daughter Doreen Collet on June 30, 1981. He was also predeceased by his sisters Helen (Cecil) Buye, Mary (Peter) Hoffart, Marguerite (Louis) Reiter and brother Arthur (Clara) Dietz.
Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Wednesday March 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Phillip Le celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit c/o Medicine Hat Regional Hospital 666 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 4H6 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, NWT & NU, 100 – 119 14 St NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6.
