1937 – Ralph Deering – 2021
Ralph Richard Deering of Medicine Hat, passed away at Sunnyside Nursing Home on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the age of 84 years, beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Deering. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister Margaret Sturm and her two sons Robert Sturm and Brian Sturm; Brian’s two sons, Marcus and Joe and Ralph’s good friends Gary and Norma Demke. Ralph was predeceased by his parents Robert and Lydia Deering and his wife Mary Ann. He was born and raised on the family farm in the Woolchester district. After leaving the farm he worked a few jobs before starting at Joyline where he worked in the mechanic shop for many years, fixing whatever needed to be fixed. Ralph enjoyed playing cards and marbles; fishing was his favorite pastime. He also enjoyed watching movies. He had all kinds of John Wayne movies and many other westerns. Ralph was proud to have been a Lifetime Member of the Redcliff Lions Club. A special thank you goes out to all the staff, doctors and nurses at the Wellington and Sunnyside for the great care given to Ralph. Rest in peace Ralph, there is no more pain. At his request, a private graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Ralph with a donation may direct it to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the SPCA.
