Phyllis Gehring

1938 ~ 2023

It is with a broken heart that Vern announces the passing of his beloved wife of 65 years, Phyllis Iona Gehring. She passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the age of 84 years. Along with Vern, left to remember Phyllis is her daughter, Brenda (Brad) and her children, Yulis, Tamara and Michelle and their families; son, Dale and his children, Brittney and Dalton; Brian’s children, Erika, Blair and Cole as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was pre- deceased by her son, Brian and grandson, Chase. Phyllis was born on December 6, 1938, to Gothelf and Lydia Stelter. She had a passion for baking, cooking and canning. Phyllis and Vern spent much time together tending to their flowers and garden. Her love of animals always had a special place in her heart. Her devotion to her family and caring personality will be missed, especially by her eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Phyllis’ life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
