Peter Deringer
May 3, 1926 ~ November 7, 2018
Mr. Peter Anthony Deringer, beloved husband of Mrs. Margaret Rose Deringer, passed away peacefully with family by his side at South Country Village, Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, at the age of 92 years. Peter was born May 3, 1926, in Prelate, SK, a son to Balzar and Christina Deringer. In his younger years he enjoyed being a hockey referee and spent 20 years as a barber in Bow Island. Peter traded his scissors for tools and worked for CFB Suffield as a carpenter for 13 years. He was a skilled carpenter and worked very hard throughout his life. Peter enjoyed gardening, woodworking and restoring old cars… he was very good with his hands! He also enjoyed the company of his buddies going for morning coffee at McDonald’s. It was in his nature to be kind to others and would lend a hand to help others including strangers he just met. Peter had a great sense of humour whether it was laughing with others or at himself… he truly did see the lighter side of life. Peter will be deeply missed by his wife, Margaret; children, Garry, Brenda, Tim (Michelle) and Mark (Trisha); grandchildren, Damon (Melanie) Brandon, Shaylene (Pete) and Chanteal; great-grandchildren, Madison, Mercayde, Dayja and Preston; sisters, Helen Carnelli and Violet Brilz; numerous nieces and nephews as well as sister-in-law, Lorraine Bowes; brother-in-law, Balzer (Dorothy) Heilman. He was predeceased by his parents, Balzar and Christina; brothers, Wendall (Isabell) and Pius (Mert); sisters, Eva (Mike) and Rose (Alex) and brothers-in-law, Ron Carnelli and Tom Brilz.
