Paul Michie

Paul Frederick Michie of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, beloved husband of Judith Mae Michie, passed away after a lengthy illness on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the age of 80 years. He also leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Cheryl Anne Shields; his sister-in-law, Patricia Gail Lawrence, and his brother-in-law, Barrymore Grant Finnen. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Dorothy Michie, and his siblings, John Frederick, Doreen Thorburn, Catherine Morgan, and Jeanette Gagnon.
Paul was born in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and went to Brandon Collegiate Institute. He started his welding career in Winnipeg, Manitoba at Musker Engineering when he was sixteen. The trade was good to Paul. He worked in the pipeline and metals industries in Brandon where he had apprenticed, the potash mines in Esterhazy and Saskatoon, and finally twenty five years with the city of Saskatoon in the engineering department’s welding shop. Paul also completed a short stint with the Canadian Brown Steel Tank in Brandon where he apprenticed. He was the president of the union for the city of Saskatoon for many years as well.
Paul loved to play hockey and since he was a young boy, he played the accordion. He also had a great sense of humor. Paul loved camping with his beautiful wife Judith, as they travelled to the states in their camper often.
