Norma Knox of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Joseph Knox, passed away on Thursday, May 9th, 2019 at the age of 90 years. Norma leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Stephen (Maureen) Knox and Michael Knox; two daughters, Terri (Ted) Loughlin and Anita (Roger) Fischer; twelve grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Norma was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Knox; her parents, Joseph and Dulcie Vesso; two great grandchildren, Stefanie Knox and Levi Knox; one brother, Joe Vesso; and two sisters, Mary Morley and Ella Holden. Norma was born on July 26th, 1928 in Medicine Hat where she was raised and educated. She married Joseph on May 20th, 1948. Norma was a C.W.L member for over 55 years and served for various ministries in the church, such as senior outreach and parish pastoral council as well as sang in the choir. She donated much of her time volunteering for Teen-Ed and the Medicine Hat Pro-life Association. Norma also served as a Blood Donor Coordinator, a Girl Guide Leader and worked as an Administrator with United Way. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday from 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. and at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Tuesday from 12:00 until 12:55 p.m. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Monday, May 13th, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, on Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Vijaya Bathineni, Celebrant. Interment will follow the reception in the Roman Catholic Section at Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Norma’s memory may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre, c/o Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5H6.
