Melissa Dawn Shand, more affectionately known as Missy, passed away unexpectedly at Foothills Hospital in Calgary on Tuesday, October 2, 2025, at the age of 58 years. Missy was the soulmate of Ken and their love and commitment to each other was undeniable. Nothing brought more joy to Missy then seeing four legged friends be happy. Her loyalty and kindness will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. A Come & Go Celebration of Missy’s life was held at the Medicine Hat Lodge on Saturday, November 8, 2025, between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate a bag of dog or cat food to a shelter of your choosing. This would warm Missy’s heart knowing that a cat or dog will have a full tummy.
