Marvin Schneider died peacefully in Medicine Hat on August 14, 2017. Left to mourn Marvin’s memory are his children: Morris (Donna), Kathy (Micheal) Stadnyk, Charles (Lorna), Dan (Ruth), Eugene, Melinda (Hugh) Arthur, Marvin, and Ann (Dwayne) Koch; son-in-law, Rod Griffiths; his grandchildren: Greg (Julia), Nicholas (Kristen), Eric (Kathleen), Julia (Liam), Emily (Blake), Sonia, Nathan, Derek, Jacqueline and Camille; his great-grandchildren: Kate, Jillian, Eva and Finn; his brother, Harvey (Alida); and brothers-in-law, Walter Link, Bruce (Pat) and Jack McCleary. Marvin was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 50 years, Jacqueline; his parents, Irvine and Anna-Marie Schneider; his daughter, Elise Schneider; sister, Marilyn Link; brother-in-law, Jerry McCleary; and sister-in-law, Virginia McCleary. Dad was a strong and faithful man who worked hard to build a wonderful and blessed life for his family. He loved farming and on the farm he and mom built a beautiful home where they raised their children. When their much-loved grandchildren came along, the farm became a special place for them too. In his professional life, he built a career in steam engineering, working and studying his way to the Chief Steam Engineer position at Western Co-op Fertilizers through to instructing in the Power Engineering program at Medicine Hat College. Marvin leaves a lasting legacy of faith and love of family with those left to honour his memory. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Friday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Philip Le, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
