Mariano “Mike” Angelo Dal Broi passed away peacefully with family by his side on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the age of 81 years, beloved husband of Bernice Dal Broi of Medicine Hat. He also leaves to cherish his memory his son, Jack (Kristina) and their children, Victoria, Jason, Madison; his daughter, Angela (Dwayne) Ries; and his son Dennis (Charlene) and their children, Aaron and James. He was predeceased by his parents, Giacomo and Giovanna Dal Broi.
Mike was born in Possagno, Treviso, Italy on May 13, 1936 and immigrated to Canada in 1956. He initially worked at the Redcliff brick factory, then for Dominion Glass as a machine operator for 25 years and later as a baker at Safeway for 8 years. Mike and Bernice were married in 1964 and in 1969, they moved from Redcliff to Medicine Hat. He enjoyed playing the accordion, clarinet and piano. He took pride in his backyard apple trees and helped graft them to the trees of others. Mike enjoyed family gatherings, his friendships, being in the company of others, and had much love for his 5 grandchildren.
Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Thursday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 10:25 a.m. Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Tomy Manjaly celebrant. Interment will follow in the Hillside Cemetery.
