Mrs. Magdalene “Maggie” Burklund, passed away at South Country Village in Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 21, 2018, at the age of 88 years. Left to cherish Maggie’s memory are her children, Gordon (Dee), Gary (Barb), Carol (Darcey), Bruce and Brenda (Randy); grandchildren, Jaime, Jodi, Amber, Michelle, Crystal, Caitlyn; great-grandchildren, Cayle, Arleigh, Adelaide, Rosalie, Maylie and Hunter; siblings, Hertha and Kenneth (Elaine) as well as George’s family. Maggie was predeceased by her husband, George Frame; son-in-law, Darryl Nunweiler; parents, John and Jacobina Bauer and her siblings, Adela, Adeline, Irene and Pauline. Maggie was born and raised on the family farm in southern Saskatchewan. She worked at the glass factory in Redcliff for many years before cooking up some recipes in the kitchen at the base in Suffield. Maggie loved to play bingo and cards, baking, colouring, bowling and gardening. She will be remembered for her humour and the love for her family. The family would like to thank the staff at South Country Village for the care and support they provided to Maggie for the past six years. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, November 26, 2018, from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the Celebration of Maggie’s Life which will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Major Murray Jaster officiating.
