CLARKWATCH: Follow news and updates regarding sanctions on Mayor Clark.

Linnsie Clark

Linnsie Clark is a lawyer with the City Solicitor’s Department who has taken an unpaid leave of absence to run for Mayor of Medicine Hat.   Clark spent the first few years of her life on a farm near Oyen before moving back to Medicine Hat with her family.

She attended law school in Victoria and spent 10 years working with the Hospital Employees’ Union, eventually becoming the Director of Legal Services.

In 2017, Clark began working for the City of Medicine Hat in the solicitor’s department.

Clark says her decision to run for Mayor was a difficult one.  She believes the municipal government’s priorities and values are drifting away from those in the community.   “For generations of rural Albertans, it’s been a point of pride to make something broken work, come up with a solution to a problem with what we have on hand, and squeeze every last drop out of value out of everything we own.  We know we are stronger as a community than as individuals and know we need to work together-all of us-to succeed, “stated Clark.
