Ken Loehndorf
Ken Loehndorf has worked in Catholic education for 25 years and says he has a wealth of experience that would help him in the role of trustee.
Loehndorf says the mental health and wellbeing of students must be a primary focus, particularly during these difficult and challenging times of the pandemic.
He wants to continue to look for innovative programming opportunities for students such as the fine arts focus at the elementary school level and the sports academies in St. Francis Xavier School and Notre Dame Academy and continue to explore the expansion of programming such as the proposed new theatre and physical literacy facility at Monsignor McCoy High School.
He says he’ll work to ensure a continued strong Catholic focus and that board members need to uphold and protect the Catholic identity and mission of the schools by ensuring that Catholic teachings are part of everything done in the school division.
He says he has a strong commitment to building community including supporting a continued commitment to the partnership of home, school, parish and community.
Loehndorf and his wife Yvonne moved to Medicine Hat four years ago to be closer to family. Two grandchildren attend St. Michael’s School and the other two will attend when they are old enough. His son also teaches at St. Louis School.
