Kelly Allard has lived in Medicine Hat since 1996 and has studied, worked and raised a family in the city. This is her first time running for political office.

Allard’s campaign platform is based on five pillars.

She’s been vocal about integrity and fairness at City Hall, saying she’s heard stories about nepotism, cronyism, a toxic workplace and fear of reprisal.

Allard says the city can no longer rely on gas and oil and she will go after new revenue sources, saying she has several ideas.

Along with finding new revenue sources, Allard also wants to attract new residents by attracting telecommuters from big cities and says once that happens businesses will follow.

She also wants to create a better transit system in the city and improve the downtown core and the waterfront area.
