Kale Austin Porteous
November 7, 2006 ~ August 14, 2018
It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of our remarkable son and brother, Kale Austin Porteous, at the young age of 11 years. Kale left this world much too early and he left behind to cherish him his parents, Garth and Karla; siblings, Kiara, Landon and Makaya Porteous; grandparents, Bob and Maureen Laidlaw, Dawn Porteous, Gordon Porteous; Great- Gramma Mae; aunts and uncles, Heather and Rob Hart (Ryler, Chase, Levi, Kassidy), Wes and Lydia Laidlaw; Janice and Jess Donahue (Megan, Brady); Cindy and Greg Timinski (Rheanna, Jayna); Roxanne and Gavin Wakefield (Shayla, Kaden, Kaci) and all the extended families.
Kale was born November 7, 2006, and he left us on August 14, 2018, in a farming accident. Kale was one of a kind! His infectious smile beamed on him whether he was working on the ranch, tending his goat herd, playing hockey or soccer, attending 4-H events or taking on any of life’s challenges. He cared for everyone he was involved with and always gave more than 110% in both his relationships and work ethics. Kale was way beyond his years and showed that with the vision he had for his role in agriculture.
“He will be forever missed, never forgotten and always loved.”
The family is blessed to have been shown so much support from family, friends, and communities through their time of sorrow.
A Celebration of Kale’s Life will be held in the Cypress Center at the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede Park, 2055 – 21 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. In lieu of flowers, there will be a “Kale Porteous Citizenship Scholarship” Fund set up at Senator Gershaw School, Box 7000, Bow Island, Alberta, T0K 0G0.
