With profound sadness the family of Julie Gogolinski announces her passing on Monday April 22, 2024, at the age of 40 years. We would like to thank St. Joseph’s Hospice in Medicine Hat for their loving care.
Julie Anne (Taylor) Gogolinski arrived on December 16, 1983, in Didsbury, Alberta, the youngest of five children born to Brian and Judy Taylor. Julie grew up on a dairy farm near Carstairs, where she enjoyed a happy childhood. She was influenced early in life by her extended family, by the many friends she made wherever she went, and by her adventures travelling to many countries.
Julie loved God, enjoyed good music, and the colour ‘purple’. Because of her love for children, she began working at a local foster home, then in Canmore as a beloved nanny, and later in Calgary as a creative pre-school teacher.
In 2010, Julie met the love of her life – Ryan Gogolinski. They were married on October 8, 2011, and settled into farming life at Orion, Alberta.
Three beautiful children blessed their home: Elise, Kellan, and Rayelle. Being a wife and mother made her very happy!
Julie loved life and filled her days helping on the family farm, gardening, making preserves, and decorating their lovely home. She was a gracious hostess, loved playing games and organizing events. She became very involved in their community, church, their children’s school, and sports activities.
Throughout her courageous two-year battle with cancer, Julie inspired many people with her thoughtful posts on ‘Julie’s Journey’, revealing her positive attitude, and beautiful smile!
Julie will be forever missed, and remembered for her sweet spirit, friendliness, loving ways, and her quiet determination.
Julie is survived by her devoted husband Ryan Gogolinski, and their children Elise, Kellan, and Rayelle; her parents, Brian and Judy Taylor of Carstairs, and Ryan’s parents, Phil and Maxine Gogolinski of Medicine Hat. Her siblings: Landon (Marti) Taylor of Carstairs; Janelle (David) Hay, Katelyn, Emily, Julia of Sherwood Park; Lori (Dave) Reid, Carmen, Charlotte, Lynelle, Evelyn of Cremona; Lowell (Julie) Taylor, Fraser, Stefan of Lethbridge. And Julie’s brother-in-law Kyle (Christine) Gogolinski, Rachel, Briea of Ft. McMurray. She will be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends all around the world.
Sincere thanks to the Gogolinski and Taylor families, and friends far and wide who brought meals, helped with childcare, and offered support and encouragement in so many ways during this difficult journey.
A celebration of Julie’s life will take place at Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church (3785 13th Ave SE) on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.
