1936 – Josephine Koch – 2022
Josephine Koch passed away peacefully with her family by her side on March 20, 2022 at the age of 85 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Brenda (Garnet) Tuchscherer, Dwayne Koch and Bonita (Gerald) Sept; her grandchildren, Brent (Kim), Travis (Megan), Kristen, Blake and Camille; her great grandchildren, Easton, Emery, Makhi, Lila and Mera. Josephine was predeceased by her husband Peter (June 2004), by an infant son Robert; her parents, Frank and Regatha Schneider and by all of her siblings, Anne Wagner, Paul Schneider, Veronica Dirk, Katherine Hauck and Anne Marie Syroiszka; her half siblings, Magdelena, Margaret, Mary, Pauline, George, Ben, Adam, Rose, Wendlin and Andrew; her in-laws, Tony Wagner, Martina Schneider, Tony Dirk, George Hauck and Fred Syroiszka. Mom was the last of fifteen children. She was born on July 18, 1936. On December 26, 1956 she married Peter Koch at Leader, Saskatchewan. They then began their farming life in the Richmound, Saskatchewan area. In 1979, they moved to Medicine Hat. Mom will always be remembered for her Sunday soup and chicken.
On behalf of Jo and her family: No words can describe the care and love mom received from the staff at Meadow Ridge. Moms reaction when they were around was a sign that she was happy and they were family. Always remember, you were her sunshine and she loves you more.
Family and friends are invited to the prayer service which will be held in the PATTISON CHAPEL on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass be celebrated in Holy Family Parish (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Iqbal Khurshid celebrant. Interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Jo with a donation, may do so to either A.J.’s Loan Cupboard, Canadian Diabetes or the Alzheimer Society, Alberta and Northwest Territories.
