1924 – Joe Wilsack – 2021
It is with much sadness that the family of Joseph “Joe” Angus Wilsack of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Doreen Wilsack, announce his passing on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the age of 97 years. He will be greatly missed by his family which includes three children, Sharry (Dennis) McIntosh, Wendy (Jim) Nolan and Rick Wilsack (Marion Powell); his 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren; brother Raymond and sister Helen Jordan. He was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Frances Wilsack; daughter Jo Anne (Skip) Buhr; brothers, Fred, Freeman, and Stanley; and sister Annie. Joe was a gentle, kind, generous, and caring man who everyone immediately liked. During his life he survived overseas service in WW II, colon cancer, liver cancer, skin cancer, and prostate cancer, but because someone brought Covid into his home his life was brought to an abrupt end. There will be a private graveside service at the Hillside Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. The family sincerely appreciates wonderful care provided by the staff at South Country Village – Haven View under the extremely difficult conditions created by the pandemic. Also, the family would like to thank Kim of Angels in Motion for her special companionship and care for Dad over the past year. Those who wish to remember Joe with a donation may do so to the Alzheimer Society, Alberta and Northwest Territories – and for those of you who have not been fully vaccinated for Covid, please donate your arm for the jab so others do not have to suffer and die like Dad did. To e-mail an expression of sympathy, please direct it to: office@pattisonfuneralhome.com subject heading: Joe Wilsack, or you may visit www.pattisonfuneralhome.com and leave a message of condolence.
