1953 – Joe Rousseau – 2022

Joseph “Joe” Rousseau of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the age of 68 years. A celebration of Joe’s life will take place at the AA Clubhouse (1710 Bell Street SW – the little green building directly across from the airport entrance) on Saturday, April 9, 2022 between 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. Joe was born in Montreal on December 7, 1953 and spent the first part of his life in the East before moving West to B.C. Joe landed in Medicine Hat in the early 2000’s. He met most of his friends through various places of employment and most everyone was called “my friend”. He was passionate about his dogs who were constant companions in his life. With encouragement from those who knew him, Joe refocused in his later years and made it his mission to continue sharing the 12 step program that turned his life around. His tireless efforts saved many lives just as others working with the 12 step program helped save his life. He worked alongside many of his great friends encouraging others to become a better version of themselves. Joe ran a strong race and seemed to pick up speed towards the end – unfortunately cancer was the only thing that slowed him down. Rest my friend and we’ll see you again.
