Joe was born and raised on a farm around Gros Ventre, Alberta. He worked at the Dominion Glass Factory in Redcliff for over 40 years. He was known for lending a hand to family and friends when asked; he loved making friends wherever he went and always found a way to be distantly related to them. He was handy in repairing appliances, making jewellery boxes, dog houses, macraméing clothes hangers by the dozens and vacationing, first in a tent, then trailer and later, travelling the world. He especially enjoyed listening to Tiger’s Hockey on his radio and he never missed his children’s or grandchildren’s events, sporting or otherwise.
The family wish to express thanks to Brandi from Home Care and the staff at Wellington Retirement Residence.
A private family graveside funeral service will take place at Hillside Cemetery with Pastor Lance Duncalfe Officiating. Those who wish to remember Joe with a donation, may do so to AJ’s Loan Cupboard, Bay 4-602A Clay Ave. SE, Medicine Hat, T1A 3K2 or Hillcrest Memorial Evangelical Church, 3785 13 Ave SW, Medicine Hat, T1B 1J2.
