Joseph Greenstein of Medicine Hat, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at the age of 86 years, beloved husband of the late Anita Greenstein. He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Dean (Irene); his grandchildren, Derek (Kim Dick) and Brandi (Kim) Dalton; his great grandchildren, Jett and Grey; his brothers-in-law, Ed Ziegler and Leonard Van Maarion; his sister-in-law, Viv Child, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Kathrina Greenstein; his wife, Anita (2007); his companion, Doreen Juhas (2017); his brothers, Mike (Helen), Louis (Irene), George (Hazel), Tony (Doris); his sisters, Caroline Van Maarion, Rose (Jim) Hall, Clara Ziegler, Frances (Erich) Edelman; and his sister-in-law, Vivian Greenstein. In his youth, Joe worked at Medalta Pottery, Dominion Glass and had a 30 year plus career with the CPR until retiring in 1986. In his retirement, he enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, wood working and could often be found in his garage repairing someone’s lawnmower. His grandkids always put a smile on his face! Joe was also an avid Tiger fan for many years until his health failed. The family would like to thank the staff of the Wellington Seniors Home, as well as Home Care nurse, Leslie Worley, for their care and compassion. At Joe’s request there will be no formal funeral.
