John Brunner passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the age of 89 years, beloved husband of Marg Brunner of Burstall, Saskatchewan. He also leaves to cherish his memory their nephew, John Schlepp (Gaye Corbin); and their nieces, Elaine (Steve) Hull and Judy (Allan) Hirsch. He was predeceased by his parents, Emma and John Brunner Sr; his sisters, Esther in childhood, Elsie (Emil) Stabler and Lenora (Reiny) Schlepp. John was born on the family farm North of Burstall on January 1, 1929, living his entire life within three miles of Burstall. On October 14, 1980, he married Marg Krossa in Leader, Saskatchewan, and they enjoyed 38 years together. John loved life, hunting, fishing and being outdoors; his passion was working with horses on the ranch and riding. He volunteered in his community serving on the Burstall Town Council and R.M. of Deerforks. Believing every child should know how to handle and respect a firearm, he taught hunter education programs for 40 years. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the hall on Monday, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:55 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Burstall Community Hall (951 Railway Ave) on Monday, December 3, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. C.S.T. with Rev. John Mark Bredeson, officiating. Casual attire is encouraged. Interment will follow in the St. Michael’s and St. Paul’s Cemetery, East of Burstall.
