She is pre-deceased by her husband, Elcon Zeeb; parents, Alex and Joyce Berreth; in-laws, Jacob and Irene Zeeb; sister in-law, Diana Thompson and brothers-in-law, Lorne Kobitz and Larry Thompson.
Joan Margaret Berreth was born in Maple Creek, SK, on January 19, 1953. She attended school at Hatton for two years then went to Piapot school until grade 8. She graduated from Maple Creek High in 1971. Joan then moved to Strathmore, AB where she worked at Pagets. She then worked at the Royal Bank.
Joan and Elcon Zeeb were married on December 29, 1974, and lived on the Zeeb home place. They had three children, Jeff, Angela and Miranda. Joan stayed home and raised the three kids while Elcon worked on the farm.
In 1984, after Elcon’s passing, Joan moved to Medicine Hat, AB. This is where Joan made a loving home for herself and the three kids. With Joan’s faith, she felt that Jehovah and the brothers and sisters in the congregation helped guide her with all her life decisions.
In 1996 Joan moved back to her roots in Maple Creek. Shortly after, she purchased a home in town where she enjoyed many visits from family and friends. While in Maple Creek she enjoyed working with Ann and Carson Currah at Currah’s Bakery.
Joan made a quick decision and in 2018 and purchased a condo in Medicine Hat. This is where she resided until her passing.
Joan was such a caring, compassionate, and giving person and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
There will be a memorial held for Joan on May 12, 2023, at 2:00pm at the Maple Creek Armoury – 502 Marsh St, Maple Creek, SK.
