She leaves to cherish her memory four children, Karie Lyn (John) Beekman, Lee (Dan) Brooks, Larry (Teri-Anne) Bowyer and Bonnie (Ron) McGowan; twelve grandchildren, Jordan (Jeff) Yanch, Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, Aurora Beekman, Tamara (Wyle) Cunningham, Chris (Kim) Brooks, Tara (Edgar) Farmer, Leslie-Anne Bowyer, Josh Bowyer (Shanelle Bjorndahl), Derek Bowyer, Alex (Cammille) Bowyer, Amber (Adam) Love and Heather Jeffrey; thirteen great grandchildren, Wynter, Zach, Jasper, Easton, Ty, Dane, Davin, Kalan, Kieryn, Isabelle, Evie, Ella and Amelia. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Shirley Nesbitt and her husband Ted on May 7, 2007. Mom was born in Elrose, Saskatchewan and moved to the lower Mainland of BC as a child. After completing highschool she studied to become a psychiatric nurse. It was at this time she met her husband Ted and four children followed. Work took them on an adventure to the NWT with stays in Yellowknife, Fort Smith and Inuvik, eventually retiring in Medicine Hat. Mom enjoyed curling, golf and the cabin at Prelude Lake, NWT but her greatest joy was cheering on her kids and grandkids in their various sports & activities. The family would like to thank the 2nd floor staff at Good Samaritans especially Katie & Courtney for their excellent care of Mom during her time there. We love you Mom/Grandma Joan/Gigi and we miss you already. A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Those who wish to remember Joan with a donation, may do so to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
