1950 ~ Jeanette Beaupré ~ 2021
It is with deep sadness the family of Jeanette Caroline Beaupré announce her passing on May 29th, 2021 at age 70 after a lengthy illness. Jeanette’s memory will be lovingly cherished by her husband of 52 years Fredrick, sons Corey (Denise) and Christopher (Vanessa), grandchildren Erica, Ryan, Cameron, Shaelyn, Chloë and Brynna, sister-in-law Tina, nephew Wally (Marcus) and niece Shelley, cousin Marlys (Jim) Frank along with close friends and extended relatives.
Jeanette was raised in Manyberries, AB where she attended school before moving to nearby Medicine Hat to enroll in high school. She met future husband Fred at a New Year’s party in 1967, and after a whirlwind courtship the young couple married September 14, 1968. They bought their first house in Redcliff, AB before eventually relocating to Medicine Hat where they remained.
Jeanette was a devoted and supportive mother to her sons Corey and Christopher. She loved watching their sports and attended every hockey, baseball or bowling game or tournament and celebrated all academic achievements. She was brilliant at managing family finances and kept the household on track. Jeanette taught her children and grandchildren the value of a dollar.
Jeanette loved novels and was always working her way through a stack of books. She held a competitive spirit for Canasta, Mexican Train, Rumoli or cards. If a game was starting up, you would find her at the table ready to play. A talented cook, Jeanette’s feasts brought much joy on special occasions or weekend visits. Her delicious cabbage rolls and stuffed peppers were a family staple.
Jeanette loved to travel and the family would pack up each summer for road trip destinations in western Canada and across the U.S. including Nevada, Arizona and California. Fred and Jeanette continued to travel to destinations like Las Vegas and Mesquite, Nevada for decades.
Jeanette embraced her role as grandmother and developed a special and unique relationship with each of her six grandchildren despite long distances. Any achievement or story, Jeanette gave her full attention to learning the details. Every birthday, anniversary or special occasion, a card would arrive with a thoughtful message inside.
Jeanette will be deeply missed but we are grateful for the wonderful memories she leaves behind to cherish. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the City of Medicine Hat Library Board, Canadian Cancer Society and the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private graveside service will be held in the Hillside Cemetery on Monday, June 7, 2021 with Life Celebrant, David Townsend.
