James "Jim" Stark

James “Jim” Thomas Stark, beloved husband of Marian Stark of Medicine Hat formerly of Estevan, Saskatchewan, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at the age of 86 years. He also leaves to cherish his memory three children, Gordon (Kelly) Stark, Barbara (Lance) Wanner and Heather (Joey) Scherger; three grandchildren, Scott Wanner, Lakon Stark (Todd Gonzola) and Alanah (Jarrod) Styre; great grandchildren Cayden and Jensen; sisters-in-law Helen Stark, Cindy Ulmer Timlen and Cathy (Gene) Smith; brother-in-law Morley Dryden as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mathilda and Thomas Stark, one son Gregory Stark, his brother George, sisters Marion (Paul) Dornian, Bertha (Fay) Whitman, Irene (Raymond) Orser and Marjorie Dryden; his mother-and father-in-law Grace and Arthur Ulmer and brother-in-law Perry Ulmer. Jim was born and raised in Estevan where he also began a career with Graham Construction at the age of 16. Jim retired when he was 66 after 50 years of service with Graham. Many buildings and projects in southeast Saskatchewan were constructed under Jim’s guidance. Jim also enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating in his younger years as well as a good game of Norwegian Whist. After he retired, Jim took up baking pies and apple dumplings which were a favourite for many. Jim was also known for his barbecuing skills which a lot of his family and friends got to enjoy.
Cremation has been entrusted to the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM.
