Jim Andrews
January 4, 1944 ~ April 23, 2023
The hearts of the family of Mr. James ‘Jim’ Leslie Andrews are broken; they are saddened to announce his passing. Jim passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at the age of 79 years. Along with his loving wife, Ellen, left to remember him are his children, Crissy (Greg) of Edmonton and Jake (Kim) of Calgary; grandchildren, Ethan, Cooper and Frankie; sister, Betty Aman of Medicine Hat as well as numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Edith Andrews as well as his brother, Bill Jr. Jim was born on January 4, 1944, to Bill and Edith Andrews in Bird’s Hill, MB. He was the middle sibling of three and was raised working and playing outdoors. Jim loved animals, especially dogs and horses. Jim would have rather been hunting than sitting in school. He married his best friend, Ellen Kruger, on October 1, 1966, in Winnipeg, and they shared 56 wonderful years together. Jim explored several careers over the years from engineering to upholstery, farming to real estate, but he spent many years as a sales representative for flooring distributors. He loved the outdoors: walking, fishing, golfing, hunting, and especially sitting on the deck and enjoying a drink. His favourite times were spent in the company of his family and friends engaged in all sorts of activities. He was a loyal, loving, and kind-hearted husband, father, grandfather and friend whose presence will be deeply missed. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, April 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. A time of fellowship will be held in the Cook Southland Reception Facility.
