Jacob “Jack” Leo Kuntz of Medicine Hat passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017, at the age of 78 years. He leaves to cherish his memory his sister, Bernice (Dan) Kobitz and his niece, Sheila (Glen) Kendrick and their children, Sheridan and Spencer as well as a very special aunt, Mary Schnell. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Magdalena Kuntz.
Jack farmed the family farm near Liebenthal along with his father for many years. In his spare time, Jack became a Watkins dealer, this was a job he did for nearly 30 years. Jack travelled far and wide with his van full of Watkins, making many miles and friends along the way. He became known as the “Watkins Man” to all in the area. When Jack semi-retired, he moved into Medicine Hat. During the winter months, he could be found playing pool and visiting his friends in the afternoon. Jack was a Tigers hockey fan and season ticket holder for many years , he rarely missed a game. Jack also took great pleasure in listening to polka music and country and western music, he had quite a collection of records. He loved to record and watch old movies, especially westerns. Jack always had a VCR tape of cartoons ready for Sheridan and Spencer when they came to visit. He was always interested in what his great niece and nephew were doing whether it was school or sports. He was very proud of their accomplishments. Jack will be missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 to 10:55 a.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church (238 2nd Ave N.E.) on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Fr.
