1953 ~ Irene Botschatzke ~ 2020
Irene Botschatzke passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, October 16, 2020 at the age of 67 years, after a courageous 3 ½ year battle with cancer. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband and best friend for 49 years, Ken Botschatzke; two daughters, Laura (Troy) Fauth and Corlinda (Wryan) Smith; five grandchildren, Jordan, Torrey, and Kalyssa Fauth, Gavin and Shayla Smith; one brother, Allan (Brenda) Beierbach; one sister Beatrice (Jim) Jager and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Irwin and Shirley Bungay as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Violet and Henry Beierbach Jr.; one sister, Margaret Fischer and two brothers-in-law, Bill Irwin and Donovan Bungay. Irene grew up on a farm in Richmound Saskatchewan where she attended school. She met the love of her life Ken and together they lived the farm life while raising their family. Irene had a passion for gardening. Her green thumb was obvious to anyone who saw her flower gardens. She was a dedicated homemaker and farm wife. In 1999, Ken and Irene retired to Medicine Hat and resided in Park Meadows. She enjoyed socializing with the community and had numerous friendships with neighbours. When the grandchildren arrived, they became her pride and joy. She could be found attending every Christmas concert, sporting event, and dance recital that the children were involved in. She was strong in her faith and had a positive outlook on life. To know Irene was to love her. You couldn’t come or go without a hug or a full belly. Her smile and hugs will be missed. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at which time the video tribute will be played.
